Honouring the Legacy of Te Kauri's Three Sisters

Step into a world where ancestral wisdom intertwines with the healing power of nature. I  invite you on a journey of remembrance and connection to the land, guided by the history of Tangimai, Hana, and Wera Tarawhiti. As their mokopuna, I carry their lineage and the responsibility to preserve their heritage.

In the heart of Te Kauri, a sanctuary flourishes, brimming with rongoā and vibrant vegetable gardens. Drawing upon traditional healing practices, rongoā serves as our compass, leading us to a state of balance and well-being. Discover the secrets of herbal remedies passed down through generations, as we explore the abundant flora that blesses this sacred land.

We celebrate the holistic connection between people and Papatūānuku, our Earth Mother. Immerse yourself in the nurturing embrace of the soil as we cultivate thriving vegetable gardens, where life springs forth in harmony with nature’s rhythms. From seed to harvest, we honor the cycles of growth and offer gratitude for the sustenance provided.

Join us as we delve into the wisdom of the past, revitalizing ancient knowledge to meet the needs of the present. Together, we honour the legacy of Tangimai, Hana, and Wera Tarawhiti, the three sisters who represented the spirit of Te Kauri.

Embrace the magic of TangiHanaWera PĀTAKA Māra, Rongoā, and experience the transformative power of reconnecting with our ancestral roots.

I te timatanga ko te kore
Ko te pō
Nā te pō
Ka puta ko te Kukune
Ko te Pupuke
Ko te Hihiri
Ko te Mahara
Ko te Manako
Ka puta i te whei ao
Ki te ao mārama e
Tihēi Mauri ora

In the beginning there was a void
Within the void there was night
From within the night, seeds were cultivated
It was here that movement began – the stretching
There the shoots enlarged and swelled
Then there was pure energy
Then there was the sub consciousness
Then the desire to know
Movement from darkness to light, from conception to birth
From learning to knowing
I sneeze and there is life
