Building projects - In progress - 2025

1. Matawhaanui is proud to partner with Te Whatu Ora – Ministry of Health on an upcoming hauora hub building project that will significantly enhance health outcomes for our community. Our Hauora hub will provide accessible, culturally responsive healthcare services, ensuring whānau receive the support they need to thrive. Through this collaboration, we are creating a lasting impact on community well-being by addressing health inequities and strengthening holistic care.

2. Matawhaanui’s latest building purchase in Huntly West marks an exciting step toward strengthening community support, as once refurbished, it will serve as a central hub where whānau can access housing support services and social enterprise opportunities, fostering stability and economic empowerment.

3. Matawhaanui is committed to expanding its facilities maintenance services beyond Pou Ltd., with a strong focus on employing its own skilled labour force. This strategic move ensures greater sustainability in maintaining our growing housing portfolio while creating meaningful employment opportunities within the community. By building a dedicated team, we can enhance service quality, support workforce development, and drive the successful expansion of housing and infrastructure projects that directly benefit whānau.
